Bodrum

Approaching Bodrum you are met with a wall of gullets, massive motor boats and yachts. It must be like peak hr once the holidays start -it is good you are met by a dingy to assist with berthing. The marina is excellent and very well kept, heaps of security men however i have no idea why as despite manning a gate i have yet to show any ID etc. Cats wander on & off boats at their leisure -I have just had one yowling at me thru the hatch above as I type! Weather is unsettled but so far days have been warm while rain and squalls at night. I found bodrum to be so much nicer than marmaris despite a busy waterfront with masses of cafes and tourist trap shops -check out the pic of boomerang, it has turkey inscribed! my meandering always take me to the local areas which I love and the food always better. spent time in a local supermart miles away from marina where no one spoke enough english to help me but that adds to the experience then found a fresh food market with delightful old women tending their stalls while shucking beans and talking on mobiles. the alleys and back streets are a mass of wisteria and other brilliant tree colours. Greece tomoz so back to wonderfully pleasant but unbelievable ineffficiency - no wonder they are broke. X
